Meet The Chef
We are excited and proud to have Executive Chef Michael DeRienzo in charge of our delicious menu selection at 18 North Central and The Loft Banquet Center!
From the time he and his five brothers could stand on a milk crate, they were in the kitchen watching and helping their loving parents — Ada & “Big Joe” DeRienzo. He practically grew up at their family-owned restaurant “DeRienzo’s”, which was a South St. Louis staple for several decades.
Michael began his education at “L’Ecole Culinaire” in St.Louis with two years of formal training. He also studied three years in Sicily (Messina) unravelling the secrets of traditional bread and pastry. Over the course of his 30+ year career, he has prepared feasts at such venues as the Ritz Carlton of Clayton (Executive Chef), and Woods Fort Country Club of Lincoln County (Operations Manager).
Currently “Chef Mike” has been busy capturing the hearts (and stomachs) of all who taste his food. We are overjoyed to showcase his incredible talents at 18 North Central and The Loft Banquet Center!
